Toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasmosis is caused by infection with a common parasite called Toxoplasma gondii, which lives in the gut of a number of animals including cats and pigs.
People can develop toxoplasmosis by eating undercooked, contaminated meat, or consuming food or water contaminated with the faeces of infected cats.
