Listing of Allergen information on the menus
Food serving business can have a list of allergens on each of the available menus. Under each menu item, the letters corresponding to the allergens in that particular dish should be listed.
Please note that displaying allergen information applies to both, the food menu and drinks menu, as well as daily specials on a blackboard!
The following letters should be used under each menu to warn customers of food allergen presence:
Gluten = G
Crustaceans = C
Eggs = E
Fish = F
Molluscs = M
Soybeans = S
Peanuts = P
Nuts = N
Milk = MK
Celery = CY
Mustard = MD
Sesame Seeds = SS
Sulphites = SP
Lupin = L
Some businesses do assign numbers 1 to 14 for each allergen and number is used instead of letters as above.
Electronic Displays on TV screens, Tablets, Electronic kiosks etc. are allowed if it contains information as above.
