Ice Making Facilities
- Ice shall be made with potable water
- The facilities used to make & store ice shall be suitable to prevent contamination and shall be cleaned, sanitised & maintained in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
- The lids & doors of the ice making machines should be kept closed
- The ice scoop must be stored in a hygienic manner not contaminating the ice.eg.in a covered container.
- The ice scoop must not be left in the machine in contact with the ice.
- Glassware must not be used to scoop ice from ice storage compartment.
- Bottles or other beverage containers must not be placed inside the ice making/ice storage compartment to cool.
- Ice making machines should be connected to the water supply main upstream of final draw off points.
- The pipe work connecting the water main to the ice machine should be as short as possible in order to reduce the danger of stagnation.
- Water Storage Tanks must be covered & fitted with secure inspection doors if located externally and inspected at least annually.
