Labelling Requirements
Food businesses that prepare pre-packaged food items for sale are required by law to provide all necessary information on the packaging. The information on the label must be visible, legible, understandable, indelible, clear, unambiguous and shall not mislead the consumer in any way.
The information must be in English (or Irish and English), but a food business operator may include any other language that they consider to be necessary.
The name of food products sold and served over the counter must be available either as a label or on a sign displayed nearby.
