Defrosting in a Microwave
Always defrost food using the ‘Defrost’ programme only and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for defrost times. To ensure that food has been properly defrosted, a probe thermometer should be used to check the core temperature of the food. Probe must be washed and disinfected immediately after use. Please note that microwave defrosting happens from outside to inside, hence inside of the food may not be defrosted even if outside of the meat is defrosted.
Defrosting under running cold potable water
Food can be defrosted under running cold potable water only if in small quantities and defrosting happens quickly in less than thirty minutes and should be cooked immediately.
