Signs of Rodent Infestation and Precautions
- Small black elongated droppings.
- Shredded scraps of paper used for nesting
- Gnawing.
- Greasy marks on pipes or skirting.
- Damage to wiring and woodwork.
- Damage to goods and packages.
- Smell of urine.
- Sighting of live or dead rats or mice.
- Food wrappers that have been nibbled or disturbed, packets that have been graded in larders or cupboards.

Precautions:
- Bins with tight fitting lids, clean bin areas.
- Remove all waste packaging as soon as possible.
- Repair taps and external vents and pipe work.
- Clean up all food spills immediately.
- Rotate stock, looking for evidence.
- Keep open food in sealable containers.
- Report sightings to a supervisor who will contact the pest control officer.
