Fatal Allergenic reaction incident in Ireland

14-year-old Irish teenager, who was out for a pre-Christmas meal with her family died on a city street just minutes after suffering from an allergic reaction. This happened after she accidentally ate a nut-based sauce and suffered a severe allergic reaction

Mother rushed to a nearby pharmacy to get help, was refused a life-saving adrenaline injection because she didn't have a prescription. Mother was told to bring her daughter to hospital but the two had only got a few yards away when the teenager collapsed.

It was reported that the teenager was always been very careful and would check the ingredients of every chocolate bar and other foods to be sure they didn't contain nuts

On the day of the incident, she had a satay sauce which she thought was curry sauce because it looked like curry sauce and smelt like curry and the allergenic reaction started and unfortunately, she was not carrying an 'epipen' injection device, often carried by people with allergies, with her.

A doctor who was passing by tried to help and put her into the recovery position, but by the time ambulance and fire brigade men arrived and worked on her, it was too late.
